22.2.2024-22.3.2023(WEEK 1 - WEEK 7) TAN YING YI / 0362425 / BACHELOR OF DESIGN (HONS) IN CREATIVE MEDIA DESIGN PRINCIPLES FINAL COMPILATION TASK 1 - EXPLORATION TASK 2 - VISUAL ANALYSIS TASK 3 - DESIGN INSTRUCTIONS TASK 3 - FINAL ARTWORK TAN YING YI_CROWDED OCEAN_TASK 3 FINAL REFLECTION Through this module, I have learned various design principles and how to apply them effectively in the creative process. I have gained an understanding of how to analyze others' works, comprehend design concepts, and implement the knowledge gained in my own creations.  I enjoy the process of creation, exploring different mediums and techniques to express my ideas, which I find immensely enjoyable. Experimenting with various design methods leaves me feeling fulfilled and happy. However, compared to the hands-on aspect of creating designs, I find the theoretical aspects of design, such as learning design principles, somewhat dull and obscure. Although these theoretical aspects are important, they can...

8 .3.2024-22.3.2023(WEEK 5 - WEEK 7) TAN YING YI / 0362425 / BACHELOR OF DESIGN (HONS) IN CREATIVE MEDIA DESIGN PRINCIPLES TASK 3 - DESIGN TASK 1 - EXPLORATION TASK 2 - VISUAL ANALYSIS FINAL COMPILATION INSTRUCTIONS TASK 3 - DESIGN After analysing the design of our choice in Task 2, we will now produce a work of design, inspired/influenced by the one we had analysed, or as a reaction to it. We should also apply our knowledge of design principles in our creation. We may use any medium and/or materials that are suitable to convey our visual message. Direct use of photographs is not permitted. Any work that is found plagiarised will result in an F grade for the overall module and the student will be subjected to the policies of the University concerning academic misconduct. The blog must contain all the work done and completed for this module, along with a final reflection. 20.2.2024-16.3.2023(WEEK 3 - WEEK 5) TAN YING YI / 0362425 / BACHELOR OF DESIGN (HONS) IN CREATIVE MEDIA DESIGN PRINCIPLES TASK 2 - VISUAL ANALYSIS TASK 1 - EXPLORATION TASK 3 - DESIGN FINAL COMPILATION INSTRUCTIONS TASK 2 - VISUAL ANALYSIS This task requires us to assess, investigate, document and analyze the existing art/design work we selected in Task 1. We will study the design principles found in that work, as well as the size, placement, purpose, effectiveness of the design in relation to the UNSDG goal that we have chosen. The Bottom of The Garden by Yoneda Eri Analysis Symmetrically Balance, Rays of Light Point Towards the Seabed This design work is in portrait format. In the top right corner, there is a circle representing the surface of the sea, where three divers and a school of fish are present. On the left side of the painting, there are polygons representing the rays of light casting from the sea surface to the seabed. The illustration is surrounded by circles adorned wit...

Gestalt principles aim to show how complex scenes can be reduced to more simple shapes. Principle of similarity : The brain crafts a link between elements of a similar nature. Principle of continuation : The human eye prefers to see a continuous flow of visual elements rather than separated objects. Principle of closure : The human eye will fill in missing visual information when the shape is incomplete. Principle of proximity : The process of ensuring related design elements are placed together . Principle of figure/ground : Objects are in the foreground or the background . Law of symmetry & order : This law states that elements that ar...
